Selling Sunrider doesn’t make you an herbalist, anymore than selling aspirin makes you a doctor.
This is my latest rant. I am sick sick SICK of people claiming to be herbalists because they sell Sunrider, or claiming to be athletes because they sell Advocare, or experts in how to use essential oils [eo’s] because they sell essential oils put out by Young Living or Doterra. [so you KNOW there are more blog posts coming huh? lol]
JUST because you use herbs, doesn’t make you an herbalist, it makes you interested in herbs. It’s not ‘herbology’, it’s ‘herbalism’. Stupid people started saying ‘herbology’ years ago to make themselves sound like they knew something. Now it’s an accepted term. Gads it ticks me off.
Katie Weightman says on her website for selling Sunrider: “food herbs, not medicinal herbs – whole food herbs work with the body so that [sic] the body does its ‘work’ much more efficiently. Medicinals, on the other hand, interfere with the way your body functions. They are not meant to help your body ‘correct’ the problems. You cannot find whole food products containing whole food herb in health food stores. Medicinal herbs are meant only for treating symptoms and for short term use. Taking medicinals over a long period of time can cause harmful effcts.’
WHAT A STUPID STUPID REMARK!
- Herbs are food. Cauliflower is an HERB, it grows on a PLANT, it produces a seed. In the Bible, Genesus 1:29 says…”Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.”
- If it’s pure herbs, nothing added, it will help your body heal itself.
- Herbs NEVER ‘interfere’ with how the body functions.
- What does she think health food stores sell? Kraft Mac ‘n Cheese? YES you can find ‘whole food products’ in health food store.
- If she was talking drugs on short term use, that would be fine. But she erroneously said one can only take herbs for symptoms and short term use? She may be a fitness trainer but she certainly doesn’t know what she’s talking about when it comes to herbs.
- When one takes herbs, the herbs work on the last problem the person had, working the way down to the last problem. So if you had a cold last week, the flu a month ago, bronchitis 6 months ago, a cold before that, the herbs will start working on the cold from last week, then work their way down.
A body will detox along the way as the herbs feed the body. So a person might get symptoms of a cold, of the flu, etc.
Regarding taking herbs over a long period of time causing ‘harmful effects’? BS and Ginger tea as my grandmother used to say. One is supposed to be wise in taking herbs and herbal supplements. Ditto eating food. We are not supposed to eat the same things every day, we would not get the nutrition we need. There are some herbs one can take every day forever, others one cannot. Seabuckthorn oils are ones that can be taken every day. Seabuckthorn oils lowered MY cholesterol, improved MY eyesight [said my eye doctor], took away my joint pain, took away the cankers I get on my tongue, stopped acid stomach and boost my immune system. I’m not saying it will do the same for you, just telling you what benefits I get out of ingesting it every day.
It infuriates me when people, who are not herbalists, spout off whatever they are told by another non-herbalist, by literature they are fed from a company, or because they MAY have been trained in nutrition, but NOT as an herbalist – as if it were true.
I have been seeking training in what Sunrider products do and what they are for several months. All I hear is ‘they work on everything’. No, they don’t. Even seabuckthorn herb doesn’t work on everything, but it comes close.
I am an herbalist. I started as a kid, outdoors all the time, gardening, growing up with plants, making teas for my young, hyperactive son. Throughout the last 35 years, I have been actively learning. There are no herbalists that know it ALL. There’s too much to know. We are always learning. Some know more than another in areas and vice versa.
However there is no herbalist that is stupid enough to say herbs are not food just to try to sell a different product made from herbs. Sunrider International, you need to train your distributors better AND you need to put at the VERY least, ‘key ingredients’ on your website. You are forcing people to come up with their own assumptions, their own uneducated guesstimates.
Telling people to ‘use the products themselves’ in order to sell it to others and providing NO training of ANY kind on what the products do, shows Sunrider International, in my opnion, is out for the almight dollar, not actually helping people to learn and grow.
As Sunrider knows, I own a business. However Sunrider won’t let me use my license to buy their products without sales tax, so I can resale in the course of my business. They insist they must have my articles of incorporation and my name must be on the license with my business name. AS IF. Larry Burr is the evil gatekeeper for Sunrider.
I have never heard of anything so preposterous in my business life! EVERY other company takes the Arizona form 5000A, but not Sunrider. Which for me, just makes them more suspect as to HOW they are doing business. I have only found 1 product that does anything for me. I’m not sure selling THEIR product FOR them, is something I want to do when they provide no training and I have to pay taxes on it.
And one more thing. Other MLMs have percentages one achieves as they purchase more product. Not Sunrider. It’s 20% off for everyone, no matter how much you purchase. I was told I can get another 5% off for the next month if I buy $200 the previous month. But having to pay taxes on it…just makes it wrong on so many fronts.
